New Video of Pleo in Action!

Here’s a new video of Pleo in action. The video is from this Popular Science article.

A couple of interesting things to note. This is the first time we’ve heard the noises that Pleo makes. It sounds like very soft chirping and high pitched growling noises. I also noticed that there is almost no noise from Pleo’s motors. This adds to his lifelike motion.

In the video Pleo also demonstrates how he can detect drops - he walks to the edge of the table and looks down over the edge, then backs up in fear. He also shows how he responds to being touched - on the back and feet, and how he can listen and turn towards loud noises.

    HP,

For all the hype that Ugobe is drumming up, I can hardly believe that it’s just gonna be a scripted mechanical toy. If you read the interview with Bob Christopher you find out that they’re still working hard on getting Pleo manufactured correctly I imageine that one they get their supply chain and production up and running we’ll see more evidence of Pleo’s “smarts”.

These videos are for demo purposes only, I would assume they would show something of scripted actions at this time so as we arent staring at it doing nothing, as anyone who has an autonomous bot knows they can be
