In the market survey that Ugobe is conducting, one of the questions asks you to choose which behaviors and abilities that you think best suite Pleo and your tastes.

The following list is given:

• Dances to music (beat recognition)
• Over 450 distinct movements and behaviors
• Plays games with you (i.e., hide and seek, tug of war, etc.)
• Ability for non-programmers to design different behaviors and personalities for Pleo via an easy-to-use, computer-based authoring program.
• Stereo hearing (i.e., follows direction of sound)
• Catches cold, gets injured and can be nursed back to health
• Additional behaviors, tricks and personalities can be downloaded.
• Behavior, health and personality are directly determined by how you raise him
• Ability to exchange data with other Pleos (e.g. tricks, behaviors, sounds, etc.)
• Pleo’s cute & cuddly appearance with lifelike skin (not hard plastic)
• Ability to program/hack Pleo and to create new actions and behaviors
• 32-bit CPU (brain) and 5 additional 16-bit subprocessors
• Biomechanical ability to move body and limbs naturally – like a real living animal
• Guard mode (ability to react when someone enters a room)
• Fully autonomous behavior (i.e., doesn’t need a remote control)
• Object avoidance, edge recognition and motion detection
• 75 sounds (e.g. whimper, bark, growl, pant, whistle, etc.)
• 14 motors and 150 different gears
• Learns from his environment and evolves over time
• 31 unique sensors, including touch sensors, camera, IR sensor, tilt sensor, and force feedback sensors
• Ability to display a wide range of emotions (e.g. happy, fearful, curious, sad, angry, confused, etc.)
• Can be trained to perform tricks
