PleoBot.com – Pleo The Dinosaur

Apparently Toys R Us didn’t get the news about Pleo not getting released till March. Pleo apparently is available for “pre order” (pre preorder?) on Toys R Us’ website, with a release date of 09/15/2006. Can someone clue them in?

Their product description reads:

Pleo is an actual Camarasaurus Dinosaur with fully organic lifelike movements, autonomous personality, ages and adapts to environment. Pleo has a complete facial animatronics, DinoSense with RFID tagging and also has sound output and language. Pleo redefines robotics and blurs the line between technology and organic life.

RFID tagging? That’s a new one on me. Are they just seriously misguided or is that something Ugobe hasn’t told us yet? What would you be tagging?
